Dr Nicholas Maple is a Lecturer in Refugee Studies at the Refugee Law Initiative. His research interests take a multidisciplinary approach to examining refugee and migrant displacement in Africa and Latin America. In particular, through a multi-disciplinary approach that combines insights from political science and socio-legal studies, his work to date has been interested in how mobility interacts with different forms of state-based reception, including urban settlement and encampment.
