Ms. Blaise Sonia Adu-Gyamfi is the Global Monitoring, Learning, and Evaluation Coordinator of an international anti-human trafficking Non-governmental Organization, Free the Slaves. Her duties span across West Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, Latin America, and East & Central Africa. Before joining Free the Slaves, she worked as a Senior Research Assistant at the University of Ghana’s Centre for Migration Studies. She has been part of several policy-driven research projects on migration in Ghana and the sub-region. Key areas of research interest have been human trafficking, forced labour, migration & development, and gender issues. She has also worked as a Communications Officer for the research project “Migrating out of Poverty” coordinated at the University of Sussex, London through the Centre for Migration, University of Ghana. She collaborated with the research team both locally and internationally to develop and implement communications strategies tailored to effectively engage diverse but relevant stakeholders in academia, government, CSOs, community members, and relevant stakeholders. She holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology and a master’s degree in migration studies from the University of Ghana, Legon, and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Migration with a focus on human trafficking.
